When I was young we had a purebred Shetland Sheepdog named Willy and he
was very active and seemed healthy to us. We fed him those prepackaged
"moist burgers" - Gainsburgers I think they were called.

When he was 9 he got cancer and we had to put him to sleep. I was a
teenager and had gone off to college, so I didn't think much about it,
but my mother was devastated. After all, she was the one who had taken
care of Willy all those years.

Fast Forward to 1994 when I got my first dog. She was a purebred

heard such great things about it from my local pet store.

But then she got all kinds of skin things. She got mange, she got
